After 6 years of internet conspiracy theories and fans’ wishful thinking, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan finally confirmed the death of Walter White. When we last saw Walt, his seemingly lifeless body was being swarmed by the DEA. But many theorized he was able to make some kind of quick getaway, allowing Bryan Cranston to reprise his role in the upcoming movie spin-off El Camino. “Yes, Walter White is dead. Yes." said Gilligan today on The Rich Eisen Show.

So, how will this fact affect the El Camino cast list? Just because Walt’s death is confirmed does not necessarily mean we won’t catch glimpses of him through Jesse Pinkman’s memory. In the latest trailer, a rough-looking Pinkman seeks shelter with old friends, struggles to cope with deaths of loved ones, and returns to his gun-slinging roots. While the El Camino teasers don’t reveal much, they show us Pinkman has much to reflect on – Heisenberg included?

Catch El Camino on AMC and Netflix on Friday, Oct. 11.
