Multiverse, metaverse, we live in an age of alternative universes, and holy shit, is it exciting! With tickets going on sale today for the release on May 6th, 2022, the hype for this sequel is real. We haven’t seen a Doctor Strange film in over 6 years, possibly because of Covid delays, and this one is expected to give us the flavors that we’ve been missing.
Clocking in at just over 2 hours of runtime, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has the anticipation of being a significant turning point from its 2016 predecessor. Being the second Marvel film to dabble in the multiverse world, following Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Doctor Strange sequel is expected to pull out all of the stops.
A few things that we’re still speculating over; what will Doctor Strange do to fend off his tentacle-wielding third eye twin? Will Wanda’s journey across the multiverse allow her to become one with her kids again—and is her obsession with the cells a foreshadowing of what’s holding her children captive? Was the zombification of the Avengers in 2006 a hint to a zombie converted team including Wanda and Doctor Strange?!
While we still have a ton of questions ahead of the May 6th release, one thing we know for certain—this star-studded cast is sure to make a bang. With a lineup including Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Bruce Campbell, and Patrick Stewart, we know for sure that the multiverse will be one for the books.
